Ava Korman

Plans changed, and my project changed with it. Though different from my original vision, I have been able to create a close and beautiful display. I have been working with hand-cut paper flowers for some time and wanted to work with them on a large scale and in the context of a window display. Three identical and simple dresses form the foundation, and intricate paper flower appliques adorn each. The decision for white-on-white dresses was an early one, however the original plan was for the accompanying flowers to be pink watercolor. As a response to the change in display space (gallery venue to digital), and my choice to photograph against a leafy, natural setting, I reconsidered the interaction of colors and chose to keep the entire pallet crisp and monochromatic.
