I’ve always been fascinated with the idea of repetition. For this project, I set out to create many pieces which feature the same subject matter depicted using different mediums. The subject matter repeats while each piece remains unique in composition and execution. 

 

Initially I was curious about what would happen if I went straight into the drawing without first sketching it out. I found that with each new drawing, I gained confidence in my drawing skills. I became obsessed with drawing the same faces over and over again, pushing myself to see how comfortable I could get with drawing by repeatedly drawing the same faces. What started out as a study on drawing faces quickly became a collection of series that all shared the same subject matter, an experiment in repetition and its effect on the artist.
